RCABC - Residential Guarantee Program

RCABC - Residential Guarantee Program Description
Since 1960, the Roofing Contractors Association of B.C. has provided Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional [ICI] building owners with a third party roof guarantee. Over 20,000 roofs have been completed under this program.
Now, with the introduction of the RCABC Guarantee Corp. (RGC) 5 Year Residential Guarantee, homeowners can take advantage of the same roof guarantee protection that ICI building owners have used and trusted for 40 years.
The RGC 5 Year Residential guarantee, is designed for consumers who want to protect their roofing investment by ensuring that qualified contractors install proven materials.
To protect your home, ask your RCABC Professional Roofing Contractor to include the RGC 5 Year Residential Guarantee for your new roof.
The Program Features:
- Third party guarantee coverage on labour and materials for 5 years available ONLY from RCABC Member Contractors.
- The RGC Residential Guarantee fee is $300.00 and is available for single family residences on new or reroof projects, to a maximum roofing contract value of $15,000.
- Only proven, quality materials that are accepted by RGC can be used in the program. Roofing materials must undergo a thorough review by the RGC Provincial Technical Committee. Product must meet Canadian Material Standards and B.C. Building Code requirements.
- Member Contractors installing roofs in the Guarantee Program must comply with RGC Guarantee Standards and Guidelines listed in the RGC Roofing Practices Manual (RPM). The Roofing Practices Manual is the professional roofing reference manual used by architects and specifiers in British Columbia.
- The RCABC acts as an adjudicator to resolve conflicts or disputes arising in the Residential Guarantee Program. The Residential Guarantee program can provide for inspections by an independent inspection firm to help resolve claims or complaints that may arise during installations or at any time throughout the 5 Year Guarantee coverage. In addition, random final inspections are performed on one in every four roofs installed by RCABC Members in the Residential Program to ensure the highest industry standards are being met.
- RCABC Members are committed to education and training. The RCABC Roofing Institute delivers the B.C. Apprenticeship programs for roofers, both low slope (flat) and steep roofing. In addition, professional development classes covering a variety of roofing topics are regularly scheduled for individuals working in the roofing industry.
For more information about how to obtain the 5 Year RGC Residential Guarantee, call an RCABC Member Contractor in your region, or the Roofing Contractors Association of British Columbia, 604.882.9734.

The prelisting inspection that Home Sweet Home Inspections provided for my Seller was very helpful in securing a fast sale for both parties. The report was very thorough and provided the buyer with a clear picture of the homes condition along with recommendations for future repairs. It was written in an neutral, professional and knowledgeable manner. Both Seller and Buyer were very satisfied with the ease of the transaction because the condition of the home was presented up front, eliminating the stressful renegotiation process that sometimes comes up after an inspection. Thanks Chris.

Thank you for this report, it's absolutely fantastic. Much more thorough than I thought it would be. The recommendations you've made are great and if I'm the lucky new owner, they will be implemented! I'm putting the offer in this afternoon, so we all have our fingers crossed. Thanks once again for coming on such short notice, I really appreciated it.
